Line of research:

Effects of exercise, nutrition and genetics on health and physical performance.

Summary

This line of research is comprehensive in character, encompassing the investigation of the role of physical exercise, nutrition and genetics, independently or in combination, both on the physical performance of athletes and individuals engaged in the practice of physical activities and on the promotion of health and its therapeutic effect on various pathological conditions. Therefore, it consists of investigations that go from the in vitro model, passing through experimental and clinical designs that aim to expand clinical, mechanistic (involving from physiology, biomechanics, motor control, etc. to behavioral aspects) and integrated understanding of the acute and chronic roles of nutrition, physical activity and genetics on health, the quality of life and physical sports performance on different populations.
