GRADUATE PROGRAM IN
MUSCULOSKELETAL SYSTEM SCIENCES
NOTICE
The Coordinating Committee of the Graduate Program in Musculoskeletal System Sciences of the University of São Paulo Medical School announces that it will open applications for the selection of candidates for 55 (fifty-five) vacancies for (Masters/Doctorate), as detailed below:
- APPLICATION
Application must be made at the program office, at Rua Dr. Ovídio Pires de Campos, 333, 3rd floor, room B313, during the period from 16/01/2023 a 17/11/2023, on working days between 8 am and 2 pm.
- CONDITIONS FOR COMPLETING THE APPLICATION
Master’s
- Graduate Student Registration Form (http://www.fm.usp.br) – graduate – stricto sensu -applications)
- Legible copy of the General Registry (identity card); for foreigners: legible copy of the National Foreigner Registry (RNE)
- Legible copy of the Individual Taxpayer Registration (CPF)
- Copy of the Regional Council Category registration
- 1 recent 3 X 4 photo
- Legible copy of the Graduation Diploma, with the MEC registration (front and back). In the absence of a diploma, submit a declaration from the originating institution, with a recent date, stating the date the degree was conferred.
- Proficiency in English results (within the past 5 years).
- Proof of payment of the registration fee in the amount of R$214.00 (Two hundred and fourteen reals).
Note: Only the following Proficiency in English tests will be accepted: 1) Reading Test in English for Candidates to Postgraduate Courses, given by Cultura Inglesa, Pinheiros branch, especially for the USP Medical School. Minimum score for the Master’s program: 50 points; for the Doctoral program: 60 points; 2) Toefl Internet-based Test, with a minimum score of 40 points for the Master’s program and 61 points for the Doctoral program; 3) Toefl Computer-based Test, with a minimum score of 120 point for the Master’s program and 173 for the Doctoral program; 4) Toefl Paper-based Test, with a minimum score of 433 points for the Master’s program and 500 points for the Doctoral program. The Institutional Toefl is not accepted.
- Proof of Research Project Approval by the Scientific Commission of the FMUSP Department of Orthopedics and Traumatology
- Legible copy of the Specialist Title from the Brazilian Society of Orthopedics and Traumatology for Orthopedists.
- Lattes Curriculum updates within the past 3 months.
Doctorate
- In addition to the documents listed above, the program requires:
- Proof of Master’s degree
- Copy of the Master’s Publication in an indexed periodical or proof of acceptance by the periodical
III. SELECTION (according to the selection criteria of the specific rules of the program)
- Master’s Program
- Oral presentation and project evaluation; Minimum grade 7.0 (seven); Duration of 30 minutes; Weight 6.
It will consist of:
a.1) Justification for the intention to enroll in the Graduate Program
a.2) Describe your research project in terms of:
- Importance
- Currentness
- Comparison with existing indexed publications
- Description of your published works
a.3) In addition to content, we will also analyze:
- Clarity of ideas
- Objectivity
- Analysis of Lattes Curriculum. If necessary, proof of titles will be requested – Weight 4
- Participation in Congresses, Symposia and Events
- Participation in courses
- C) Interview
- Future relevance for obtaining the title of master/doctor
- Future perspectives on the continuity of the candidate’s line of research
- Doctoral Program
- Selective oral test: Minimum grade of 7.0 (seven); Duration of 30 minutes; Weight 6.
It will consist of:
a.1) Justification for the intention to enroll in the Graduate Program
a.2) Describe your research project in terms of:
- Importance
- Currentness
- Comparison with existing indexed publications
- Description of your published works
a.3) In addition to content, we will also analyze:
- Clarity of ideas
- Objectivity
- B) Analysis of Lattes Curriculum. If necessary, proof of titles will be requested; Weight 4
b.1) Requirement of publication of the Master’s Dissertation
b.2) Publications in periodicals in the corresponding line of research
- C) Interview
c.1) Future relevance for obtaining the title of doctor
c.2) Future perspectives on the continuity of the candidate’s line of research
- Direct Doctorate Program
- Selective oral test; Minimum grade 7.0 (seven); Duration of 30 minutes; Weight 6.
It will consist of:
a.1) Justification for the intention to enroll in the Graduate Program
a.2) Prior experience in an academic area at an Institution of Higher Learning
a.3) Describe your research project in terms of:
- Importance
- Currentness
- Comparison with existing indexed publications
- Description of your published works
a.4) In addition to content, we will also analyze:
- Clarity of ideas
- Objectivity
- Analysis of Lattes Curriculum. If necessary, proof of titles will be requested; Weight 4
b.1) Previous publication in internationally circulated scientific periodicals indexed in PubMed or with higher indexing
b.2) Presentation of works at congresses and/or
b.3) Completion of Scientific Initiation
- Interview
c.1) Future relevance for obtaining the title of doctor
c.2) Future perspectives on the continuity of the candidate’s line of research
- RESULTS
The selection process results will be posted on the Graduate Program website – www.iothcfmusp.com.br – graduate or at the Program Office.
- ENROLLMENT
The selected candidates must enroll at the same location as the application process, at Rua Dr. Ovídio Pires de Campos, 333, 3rd floor, room B313.
- Compliance with Article 53 of the USP Graduate Regulations is mandatory upon the act of initial enrollment.
